Trusting God's Desire for Relationship

Trusting God’s Desire for Relationship

We are only beginning to understand the brain and how we think.

Author and Nobel laureate Daniel Kahneman says that we essentially have two brains. A fast one and a slow one. Or, put another way, a lazy one and an active one. In his book Thinking, Fast and Slow, he explains the research that proves his theory.

Over our lifetimes, according to Dr. Kahneman, we develop short cuts in our brain to help us cope and make decisions more quickly and - many times, but not always - more accurately. How Can I Trust God When I Can’t Understand?

I woke up this morning to the pitter patter of a gentle rain on the rooftop. Now, it's been almost 2 months since we've had measurable rain in my area, so I just laid there for 15 or 20 minutes listening to the sweet sound. Feel Better About Yourself

Feel Better About Yourself and Your Life – Guaranteed

Serving at the Operation Christmas Child Processing Center in Boone, NC

November 25, 2016

Thanks to some family friends, we had pleasure of serving at the Operation Christmas Child Processing Center in Boone, NC yesterday. We have packed boxes in the past, but it was neat to peek behind the scenes at a processing center and see what happens to all those boxes at their last stop before leaving the US.

The Processing Centers (PC for short) operate two shifts during their peak season, which this year runs from November 22 - December 17. We decided to volunteer for the first shift, so we started at 9 am and finished at 5 pm. After checking in, getting our name tags and watching a two short introductory and training videos, we were led to the tables we would be working at and introduced to our Team Leader.
